    YOGA INSTRUCTOR                      CURIOUS HUMAN

    Hi, I’m Victoria

I am a Toronto based yoga student and instructor who has been practicing yoga for over 8 years.

I believe yoga is a powerful vehicle for enhancing the wellbeing of self and community. Since completing my 200 hour teacher training in 2022, I’ve had the privilege to guide classes in spaces such as classrooms, theatres, art galleries, my living room, parks, and more. There’s something beautiful about experiencing yoga in everyday spaces that serve other purposes. To me, it’s analagous to integrating yoga into your everyday life off the mat.  I believe encountering yoga in non-conventional environments can also be more welcoming and accessible for many folks.

My classes are all-levels and beginner friendly. I teach a mix of Hatha, Slow Flow, Yin and Yoga Nidra. As a teacher, I am guided by an ethic of care and student autonomy. You can expect an attention towards breath awareness and cultivating mental calm in all my classes and experiences.

My offerings currently fall into three main areas:

    COMMUNITY CLASSES

    DEEP REST EXPERIENCES
    YOGA NIDRA RECORDINGS

    MY VALUES & CURIOSITIES

CARE: Yoga offers a system of care for our body, mind and spirit. Through physical poses, breath integration and mindfulness, the “work out” becomes a gateway to the “work in.” Through this holistic lens, yoga helps cultivate our relationship to ourselves and others, offering both self care and community care.

    > AUTONOMY: My goal is to empower you to tune into and discern your own needs in each moment, making your yoga practice your own. I facilitate this by modeling options and modifications, and offering prompts to tune into your own sensations and subjective experience.

PLAY: Can yoga be a form of play that allows us to try things without judgment or expectations? When we let go of having to be “good” at something and approach things with curiosity and humour, we can find joy and progress in each of our personal journeys without fixating on a specific outcome.

REST: Yoga is not only about action, but also stillness (in body, and mind). Rest is essential to recovery, healing, and connecting to your essence.  My classes often incorporate yin and yoga nidra to explore letting go of performance and productivity, and coming into the power of simply Being.

    COMMUNITY CLASSES

Community classes are free or pay-what-you-can and open to all.
Community partners I’ve worked with include Soulpepper Theatre, International Language Academy of Canada (ILAC), Theatre Passe Muraille, Toronto Fringe Festival, SummerWorks Festival, and Jumblies Theatre.

    DEEP REST EXPERIENCES

Psst! Did you know my superpower is transforming everyday spaces into magical portals of rest? My Deep Rest experiences include a mix of gentle yoga and yoga nidra (yogic sleep), complete with a cosy set up of mats, pillows, cosmic lighting and soothing soundscapes.

Deep Rest experiences can be tailored to each event and venue. This could look like a longer session or workshop, or multiple shorter sessions throughout an event.

A Deep Rest experience is perfect if:

You are hosting an event, festival or party and want to have a curated “chill zone” with guided rest options

You want to provide a bespoke activation or experience for your guests that centres rest and restoration, beyond a typical yoga class

You have a project or collaboration in mind that could benefit from an immersive component exploring themes of rest, intention setting, and consciousness. Let’s talk!

    YOGA NIDRA RECORDINGS

Also known as “yogic sleep,” yoga nidra is a guided meditation taken lying down, where a combination of prompts, visualisations and awareness techniques are used to bring your body and mind into a deep state of relaxation while maintaining varying degrees of consciousness.

Benefits of yoga nidra include: promoting better sleep, reducing stress, encouraging deeper rest and recovery, exploring deeper layers of your consciousness, and connecting to a sense of peace and wellbeing.

In addition to incorporating yoga nidra into my live classes, I have created a free  “Journey into Yoga Nidra” series that you can listen to from the comfort of your own home and bed. You’ll receive a week’s worth of recordings that take you through different yoga nidra techniques. Think of it as a mini retreat you can take at your own pace.
